Description
BioGuard PowerFloc Advanced Pool Settling Agent - 1 Quart
BioGuard PowerFloc Advanced Pool Settling Agent is a fast-acting liquid pool flocculant designed to help restore clarity when pool water looks extremely cloudy, hazy, or dull. Instead of simply masking cloudy water, PowerFloc works by gathering suspended particles together so they settle to the pool floor, where they can be vacuumed out for cleaner, clearer, more sparkling water.
Fast Help for Cloudy Pool Water
When your pool turns cloudy after heavy rain, an algae cleanup, poor circulation, or a period when the pump was not running, BioGuard PowerFloc gives you a targeted way to remove the particles your filter may struggle to catch. Its concentrated formula helps settle debris, haze, discoloration, and suspended contaminants so they can be removed from the pool rather than left floating in the water.
This 1 quart bottle is a practical solution for pool owners who need a powerful cloudy pool water treatment, pool flocculant, or advanced pool settling agent for occasional deep cleanup. It is especially useful when water clarity has dropped significantly and normal filtration alone is not restoring the clean, polished look you want.
Why Pool Owners Choose BioGuard PowerFloc
Clears Excessively Cloudy Water
BioGuard PowerFloc is made for more severe cloudiness, including water that looks hazy, murky, or discolored. It helps combine tiny particles into larger masses that sink to the bottom of the pool, making them easier to remove by vacuuming.
Helps After Algae Treatment
PowerFloc does not kill algae, but it can be very useful after an algae treatment has been completed. Once algae has been treated, this product helps settle dead algae and fine debris so they can be vacuumed out of the pool.
Concentrated Liquid Formula
The liquid formula is easy to measure and apply, with a standard dosage of 8 fluid ounces per 10,000 gallons of pool water. For extremely cloudy pools where the drain is not visible in the deep end, a stronger treatment may be appropriate.
Designed for Vacuum Removal
PowerFloc is different from a standard pool clarifier because it is designed to settle debris to the pool floor. After the settling period, the debris should be vacuumed to waste or drain so it leaves the pool system.

Compatibility and Requirements
BioGuard PowerFloc is suitable for use with pool water that needs a deeper clarity treatment than routine filtration or standard clarifying. It is designed to work with common swimming pool maintenance routines and can be used when suspended particles need to be settled and physically removed from the pool.
For best results, the pool should be properly balanced before treatment, and the pH should be adjusted to 7.5 to 8.0 before application. After the treatment is complete and debris has been vacuumed away, check the water again and return the pH to the normal operating range if needed.
Because this product settles debris to the bottom of the pool, you must be able to vacuum the pool to waste or drain. Do not vacuum the settled debris through the filter, because the goal is to remove the collected material from the pool system.
How to Use BioGuard PowerFloc
-
Shake the bottle well before use.
-
Check the filter and backwash or clean it if needed.
-
Adjust pool pH to 7.5 to 8.0 before treatment.
-
Add 8 fl oz of BioGuard PowerFloc per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
-
If your system has a recirculate or whirlpool setting, slowly add the product through the skimmer with the pump running.
-
If your system does not have a recirculate setting, dilute the product in water and apply it evenly across the pool surface.
-
Circulate the pool for about 2 hours.
-
Turn off the pump and allow the pool to sit undisturbed for 12 to 24 hours, usually overnight.
-
Vacuum the settled debris to waste or drain.
-
Backwash or clean the filter, resume normal filtration, and rebalance water as needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does BioGuard PowerFloc do?
BioGuard PowerFloc helps clear cloudy pool water by gathering tiny suspended particles into larger particles that settle to the pool floor. Once settled, the material can be vacuumed out of the pool.
Is PowerFloc the same as a pool clarifier?
PowerFloc is a flocculant, not a routine clarifier. A clarifier helps your filter capture small particles, while a flocculant settles those particles to the floor for vacuum removal.
Does BioGuard PowerFloc kill algae?
No. PowerFloc does not kill algae. It can help remove dead algae and suspended debris after an algae treatment has already been completed.
How much BioGuard PowerFloc should I use?
The standard dosage is 8 fl oz per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Extremely cloudy pools may require a stronger application.
Do I need to vacuum after using PowerFloc?
Yes. After the product settles particles to the bottom, the debris should be vacuumed to waste or drain. Do not vacuum the settled material through the filter.
