Description
BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus - 1 Quart
Concentrated Metal Stain Preventer for Clearer Pool Water
BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus is a concentrated metal stain preventer designed to help tie up metals in pool water before they can stain surfaces or discolor the water. This 1 quart bottle is used to prevent and remove fresh stains caused by iron, copper, and manganese, making it especially helpful for pools filled with metal-containing source water or well water.
Metals in pool water can lead to rusty, green, brown, or dark staining on pool surfaces, as well as discolored water that makes the pool look unbalanced or poorly maintained. BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus helps manage those metals by keeping them in solution so they can be filtered out more effectively, especially when used with BioGuard Sparkle Up.
Use BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus for stain prevention, fresh metal stain treatment, and monthly maintenance in pools where fill water may contain metals.

Product Details
Compatibility and Requirements
BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus is designed for swimming pool water where metals are present or suspected. It is especially useful for pools using metal-containing fill water, including many well-water sources.
For best results, test pool water for metals before treatment. If metals exceed 1.0 ppm, use BioGuard Sparkle Up Filter Aid to help remove metals from the water after Pool Magnet Plus ties them up. Backwash or clean the filter as needed and never allow filter pressure to exceed the manufacturer’s recommended limit.
If the pool has recently been shocked, wait 24 to 48 hours before applying Pool Magnet Plus for maximum effectiveness. Product should be added when chlorine is 1.0 ppm or less and before superchlorination when stain prevention is a concern.
How to Use
Stain Prevention
Backwash or clean the filter, then run the pump continuously. Add 1 quart per 10,000 gallons of pool water per 1.0 ppm of metals. If metal levels are above 1.0 ppm, use BioGuard Sparkle Up Filter Aid to assist with metal removal.
Maintenance Dose
When make-up water contains metals, add 3 fl oz of BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus per 1,000 gallons of water added to the pool. Pools with iron-containing fill water may benefit from monthly use.
Fresh Metal Stain Removal
Turn circulation off for 8 hours. Slowly pour 1 to 3 quarts directly over the stained area, depending on stain severity. Do not swim or operate the pump for 24 hours. After the waiting period, turn the pump on, circulate the water, and brush the pool for 5 to 7 days.
Important Application Notes
Some temporary clouding may occur. For large or aged stains, especially on white plaster pools, additional treatment such as professional evaluation or acid washing may be required.
