How to Set Up the FROG Serene Floating System
- Fill and balance: Start with fresh water and a clean filter. Bring total alkalinity to 80–120 ppm first, then pH to 7.2–7.8, then calcium hardness to 150–250 ppm, one product at a time with the jets on.
- Add the Jump Start packet: Before the floater goes in, set a starting level of 1.0–2.0 ppm with the included FROG Jump Start, one packet per 600 gallons. FROG says not to use a non-chlorine shock for this step.
- Dial in both cartridges: Hold the bottom of the blue mineral cartridge and turn the top until 6 shows in the window. Turn the yellow bromine cartridge to the chart number for your gallons.
- Load the green floater: Push both cartridges into the openings of the floating holder until they stay in place, then let it float freely.
- Test daily for a week: Use the included FROG Test Strips each day and move the bromine dial one number per day until the strip reads 1.0–2.0 ppm.
- Lift it out when you soak: Take the floater out, let its water drain back into the hot tub and set it upside down on the edge. Put it back when you get out.

Handle With Care
- The bromine cartridge is labeled Danger: corrosive, causing severe skin burns and eye damage. Wear gloves and eye protection when you handle or drain it.

- Strong oxidizer. Keep it away from heat, flames and combustible materials, and never mix it with other chemicals.
- FROG Jump Start is a chlorine start-up shock. Open the packet away from your face, add it only to water and never mix it with other chemicals, including the bromine cartridge contents.
- The blue mineral cartridge carries a Caution signal word and is very toxic to aquatic life. Do not empty it into drains or ponds.
